Getting started

There are several ways how to start working with Visual Composer Website Builder.

From activation page

Right after activation, you will see a confirmation screen with a button Create a blank page. Clicking on this button will instantly create a blank new Auto Draft page and redirect you to the Frontend editor of Visual Composer Website Builder with Blank Page Wizard active by default.

New Page, Post or Custom Post Type

To create a new page, post or custom post type with Visual Composer Website Builder:

  1. In your WordPress admin dashboard navigate to pages, post or custom post type section in your left menu.
  2. Click the default WordPress option Add New in the left upper corner.
  3. WordPress will open a blank new page, post or custom post type with an option to switch to Frontend editor.
    Note: Make sure to allow Visual Composer Website Builder to work with posts and custom post types under Visual Composer Settings in your WordPress admin dashboard.

Edit existing page (Edit page)

Visual Composer Website Builder works with your existing content. On the first edit, your existing content will be automatically wrapped into the text block.

To work with existing page:

  1. Navigate to pages, posts or custom post type section in your WordPress admin dashboard.
    Note: Make sure to allow Visual Composer Website Builder to work with posts and custom post types under Visual Composer Settings in your WordPress admin dashboard.
  2. Click Edit to open WordPress page edit.
  3. Click Edit with Visual Composer to edit content with the Visual Composer Website Builder Frontend editor.

  4. You will be automatically redirected to the corresponding editor of Visual Composer Website Builder.
